Primary air intake filters / Secondary air intake filters

The primary air intake filter is used to remove contaminants present in the air, coming from the intake system as it passes through the air cleaner. The smaller filter is fitted inside the primary filter and is known as the secondary filter. The secondary filter serves two roles; it acts as a backup for incorrect installations of the primary filter and it protects the engine when the primary filter is removed during the servicing process. Both the filters use different media for air filtration. Primary intake filters are highly efficient than secondary filters. Secondary filters are less efficient than primary filters; we recommended changing both the filters when the designed service point is reached.
